Player Characters

And...*POOF!*...the story begins...

Pseth, a human monk, Yzal Dartsab, a half-elf sorceror, and Keth, a one-eyed, half-orc fighter, traveling together for their own reasons, found themselves in Dagger Falls, discussing recent drow raids with Randal Morn, ruler of Daggerdale.

The trio agreed to investigate the matter, beginning with Dordrien Crypts, on the western edge of the Dagger Hills.

Keth used the evening to acquaint himself with the local bars. The next day, they headed south, reaching the ruins of the Dodrien Crypts around noon. Two mausoleums still stood, and a set of large stone doors that led into side of the hill. The first, and larger, mausoleum showed signs of being used as campsite over the years. Keth gleefully opened all of the sarcophagi but they had been looted long before.

The door of the smaller mausoleum proved harder to open, but Keth was up to the job. He smashed open the door (after a couple tries), and rushed in to push the lids off the two stone coffins within. Pseth stood in the door, watching.

Two forms materialized, men, wearing rough laborer clothes. One attacked Keth, the other attacked Pseth. Neither Keth nor Pseth was particularly impressed by their attackers. Yzal loitered outside, pondering nothing in particular, until a lightning bolt erupted through Pseth and into him as well. This got Pseth's attention, as well.

The two vampire spawn that had initially attacked the party went down quickly, and then battle became an odd sort of cat and mouse as Pseth and Keth tried to pin down and attack an invisible attacker, who responded with more lightning bolts. Yzal's contribution was a succession of fireballs thrown into the mausoleum from the outside, scorching Pseth and Keth as well as their attacker. Finally, the lightning bolts ceased and they were able to loot the ancient vampire's tomb in peace.

Keth, who seemed to enjoy his chosen task of opening doors while the other two stood back and watched, went to work on the big stone doors. The doors were chained closed from the inside, so Keth used his axe to attack the henges of one of the doors.

Moving into the corridor behind the door, the party found the corpses of five drow, three men and two women. The drow had been killed by excessive crossbow bolts and solid thumping with hard, blunt objects.

Finding another door to open, a crypt door that had been un-sealed long before, Keth opened and walked in. He tread on a glyph of warding, which summoned two celestial dire lions. The lions pounced on him immediately. The lions clawed Keth quite a bit, but they were defeated and Keth looted the dead.

The next door hurt Keth when he touched it. Stunned, but determined, he hit the door again, and it hurt him again. The third time he hit it, it hurt him again, but it opened. Moving cautiously, to avoid touching the door again, the party moved into this crypt.

The statue of a woman animated and told them to leave. They refused.

The ghost of the woman then materialized and unleashed her horrific appearance on the three of them. Keth shrugged it off (he'd seen much worse; hell, he was uglier than she was) and Yzal seemed to sidestep it. Pseth, however, took it full on.

The ghost and the statue both went down quickly, and another crypt was looted.

The party, especially Pseth, decided this was a good time to head back to Dagger Falls. Pseth burned through most of his credit with the temple of Tyr getting the effects of the horrific appearance removed while Keth and Yzal tallied up their loot accumulated so far, selling off what they didn't want.

Each character received 5000 XP. [an error occurred while processing this directive]
