Early the morning following their most recent return to Dagger Falls, Lord Morn called the party to his office to inform them that the Drow had raided again the previous evening. "You stirred up the hornets nest, but the hornets didn't sting you. No, three farms and five good people paid the price for you. You were supposed to take care of this problem, not make it worse. If you don't think you can handle this, let me know now so I can make arrangements to find real heros."
Sullen, the party returned to the crypts. They checked the doors of the various crypts they had already looted, to make sure that the drow hadn't re-opened them. Near the point where they had fought the roper the day before, Pseth spotted signs that what looked like a wall really wasn't.
Poking his head through the illusory wall, Pseth saw two large, ugly spider-demon things. He charged and attacked, only to see that his blows had no noticable effect. The spider-demon-thing attacked him back and he noticed. Nobly, if somewhat ill-advisedly, Pseth stood his ground and tried to hit the thing in a place that it wouldn't like.
Keth charged in, attacked the spider-thing facing Pseth, and then charged out again. He continued this approach until Pseth went down. He managed to retrieve Pseth's body. After that, the spider-things started greeting Keth at the door and attacking him as soon as he showed his face.
Yzal launched a couple fireballs into the room, and also some ice storms. He also helped Keth keep up the in-and-out attack by using their wand of cure moderate. During one of his forays through the illusory wall, a spider-thing bit him and he felt horrible.
Eventually the spider-things stopped attacking. Pseth, brought back from death's door with the wand of cure moderate, meditated himself back to full strength while Keth played with the wand. Yzal, feeling worse now, teleported himself back to the temple at Dagger Falls for some quick restoration.
While Yzal was gone, Pseth and Keth explored the spider-things cavern. They found that it contained another illusory wall, leading to another cavern. They peeked through the wall and saw a drow woman sitting and crying. She wouldn't respond to anything they said, though.
Yzal returned. Yzal got annoyed at the crying woman and he and Keth stepped into the room to talk to her face to face. When they stepped in, a spider-like creature (fortunately not one of the big spider-things they had just fought) sprayed a web over the near side of the illusory wall, trapping them in. The woman stopped crying and attacked Yzal.
Pseth, hearing the sounds of battle, charged in from the other cavern as the spider-thing sprayed Keth with web. The webs over the entrance stopped Pseth only momentarily, and commenced attacking the spider-thing. Yzal used his magic to beat on the woman, who switched from a rapier to a wand and began hitting Yzal with magic missiles. Keth struggled in the web that held him, but was unable to get free until the last round of the battle when he delivered the killing blow to the spider-thing just as Yzal flattened the woman.
Keth gleefully looted the bodies (the big spider-demon-things had had nothing to loot, so he had been developing a sense of frustrated entitlement). Pseth and Yzal found that there was yet another illusory wall leading to yet another cavern.
Keth used his axe to clear the webbing that blocked the other side of the illusory wall and they all went through. Crossbow bolts greeted them, as well as a lightning bolt, from a small collection of drow. The drow went down fighting, or in one case, using a wand of searing light.
Beside himself with glee, Keth again catalogued the plunder. They found another drow in the cavern, dead already, probably tortured to death.
Deciding that they had done enough for the day, the party went back to the crypt entrance, to block it before they went back to Dagger Falls. They found a small camp of 10 soldiers keeping a watch. Then they went back to Dagger Falls for the night.
