Heading back down into the upper Underdark, the party came again to the giant spiderweb the drow used as a ladder. As they headed down it, Pseth got the idea (from somewhere) that he could go much faster on the web proper, and promptly became entangled. Answering the call of food, the gargantuan spider who had spun the web, came running and attacked the party.
Tallos used wall of flame to good effect before the spider encased him in sticky web netting. Keth took off for a safe distance to "power up" before running back. Yzal used lightning bolt on the spider and made himself a target, taking a nasty bite that almost incapacitated him immediately. Keth came charging back into the battle and worked out a bit of accumulated tension. And it was over.
Yzal, very sick from the spider poison, had to be carried back into Dagger Falls for healing.
Headed back down the chasm again, the party reached the cavern where they had fought the duergar merchants and started searching the rooms that led off from there. These turned out to be abandoned warehouses, full of spiders. Yzal used some flaming spheres to clear the rooms of unwanted pests.
The third big warehouse room had no spiders, and showed signs of recent use. Heading to the back of the room, where there were doors, the party was attacked by a couple of large black puddings. After a mild bit of panic when attacking with weapons did not seem to harm the oozy beasts--it only split them into multiples, the party rained down fire and ruination upon them.
